The Dancing Devils are Duke University's official dance team. At home football games in the fall, the team dances in the stands and performs alongside the band for both pre-game and halftime shows. We also perform halftime routines at all men and women home basketball games. In addition to our commitments to these athletic events, we are also routinely invited to dance as guest performers at campus-wide cultural events as well as student organizations' programs, including those of a cappella and other dance groups.

The Dancing Devils also annually travel to Daytona, Florida to represent Duke University at the National Collegiate Dance Competition hosed by the National Dance Association. In the spring of 2006, the team was ranked 5th in the nation, and our performance was nationally televised on CBS Sports.
The team's style is predominately a mix of hip hop and jazz dance. However, all of our members come from diverse dance backgrounds. We have former ballerinas, jazz and hip hop competition dancers, and high school dance team members. Some of our members even have gymnastic and cheerleading backgrounds.

The Dancing Devils are currently a club sport at Duke. While we do receive some funding from the University, we do strongly rely on dues, sponsorships, and fundraising events. If you would like to help support the team, please contact Lisa Hafer at lisa.hafer@duke.edu.
